About Library
The Central Library functioning here as an information disseminating centre catering to the needs of students, researchers and staff community has a major role in paving the way for better academic excellence.The Central library has been spreads over two floors. Specialized collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Applied Science and Humanities. The Collection replete with 45882 Volumes of Books , 187 National and International Print Journals. The SAINTGITS - Central Library has access to e-resources of ASCE Journals, ASME Journals, IEL online, Science Direct, Springer, McGrew Hill, ASTM-DL & EBSCO. Also we have collections Indian Standards Codes on DVDs. The Library has a collection of NPTEL video courses in the different fields of education.
Mission of the Library
The mission of the Library is to acquire, to organize, to utilize and to preserve the information sources and to extend effective and efficient service to the students, research scholars and faculty members of the college.
Circulation Information
The SOUL software is used for Library Automation.SOUL Software which is an integrated multi-user management system that supports all in-house operations of the library. Bibliographic records of books available in the library can be accessed through the SOUL WEBOPAC. Period of loan for a book will be 14days for B.Tech, 20days for M.Tech & MCA Students and one semester for staff. Period of loan can be renewed twice after the 1st the period of loan. The request of renewal should be received in the library on or before the due date of return. Renewal will not be granted if the book is under reservation. The Librarian has the right to cut short the loan period if a book is of special demand. The Librarian has the right to recall any book on loan and cancel any reservation at any time. Reference Books and Periodicals are not issued.

Library Working Hours[Monday - Saturday]
Besides receiving access to e-resources on complementary basis under
the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium, the Centre maintains a separate Archival
Library consisting of print journals received as a part of the agreement with the
participating publishers of the UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium. Under the
agreement, the publishers are requested to submit a copy of all the issues of the
journals. This archival library is open to all users interested in using these print
resources for their study / research.
The Centre has received issues of 286 journal
titles from different publishers. During this year under review, issues of 100 journals
each were received from the Taylor and Francis, Blackwell and Oxford University
Press. Users can access information about these journals on their desktops at the
website.
IR @ INFLIBNET
The IR @ INFLBNET has been set-up to host full-text of research publications of
technical staff as well as other publications of the Centre using Dspace, an open
source digital library software developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The Dspace supports the Open Archives Initiative s Protocol for Metadata Harvesting
(OAI-PMH), an internationally recognized protocols and interoperability standards.
The IR @ INFLBNET provides a platform for researcher in LIS to deposit, reuse and
share their research publications. The repository also has the ability to capture,
index, store, disseminate and preserve digital materials created in the Centre.
Staff members can register themselves with the digital repository and submit their
pre-prints (pre-refereed version of an article), post-prints (post-refereed final
version) and publisher PDFs (if allowed by the publisher). The papers publish in
CALIBER and PLANNER proceedings have been uploaded in to the IR @ INFLIBNET in PDF
format. The Institutional Repository also includes Course Materials, Newspaper Clippings,
etc.
